PLASTI DIP®/ AIM Compliant Coating/RTS meets requirements for AIM Industrial Maintenance Coating of 450 g/l or less VOC.

PLASTI DIP® /AIM Compliant Coating/RTS is an air dry, synthetic rubber coating that can be easily applied by spraying with turbine spray systems. PLASTI DIP®/ AIM Compliant Coating/ RTS resists high humidity, immersion in water, waste water, corrosive, caustic and acidic agents, most chemicals, chemical fumes, abrasion, impact and extreme weather conditions. Excellent for use on hand rails, brackets, HVAC equipment, pipes, pipe hangers etc.

Surface Preparations

N/A MIX WELL BEFORE USE
All surfaces to be coated must be free of all oils, grease, dirt, wax and loose rust. A sandblasted or rough surface improves adhesion. Use PLASTI DIP® PRIMER/ AIM Compliant, on all metals for best results.

PLASTI DIP®/ AIM Compliant/ RTS is ready to spray. DO NOT add any thinners or solvents to this RTS mixture.

Spraying

N/A Wagner Motocoat Sprayer or equivalent is recommended.
Using the small Wagner Motocoat spray gun found in the kit (not large gun), fill cup with adequately mixed PLASTI DIP®/ AIM Compliant Coating/ RTS. Set turbine fan on high setting and turn the paint volume knob on trigger all the way in (fully open when triggered) to check paint flow when spraying. On a test surface, holding spray gun 6”-12” from surface and pull trigger sweeping left to right and making sure you are applying a medium/ wet pass. If too dry and not wetting out, you may be holding the gun too far away from substrate, causing dry spray. If too wet or sagging, try pulling gun back from surface, closer to 12”. If still too wet, turn paint volume knob out to reduce paint flow when gun is fully triggered. Adjust paint volume and distance from surface to obtain best results.
Once gun is set, apply wet overlapping coats, holding gun 6"-12" from surface, using a 4"-6" pattern. Allow 10-20 minutes dry time (dry to touch) before applying additional coats to desired thickness. Apply a minimum of 6-8 wet coats (about 6-8 mils dft) for minimal protection and up to 12 wet coats (about 10-12 dft) for increased protection.

Hints

N/A Clean Up: Aromatic 100 or Methyl Acetate exempt solvents only. A dry film thickness of 12-15 mils is recommended for best results. Approximate dry mil thickness per coat, 1-2 mils. Allow overnight drying whenever possible. Avoid excessive air movement, heat or humidity when applying PLASTI DIP® AIM Compliant/ RTS. Always use proper ventilation and protection.
